Location: Truro, Cornwall (Hybrid)
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Salary: Competitive salary circa £35,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role
In this role, you’ll manage the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring that Kensa works with the right suppliers, the right way. From supplier prequalification and onboarding to ongoing performance governance, you’ll play a central part in the smooth running and continuous improvement of our supply chain.
You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders across Operations, Planning, Finance, R&D, and Quality, as well as external suppliers and subcontractors. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who balances process discipline with relationship-building, and who takes pride in enabling efficient, ethical, and cost-effective procurement.
What you’ll do
Supplier and Subcontractor Governance
- Develop and apply prequalification criteria.
- Carry out evaluations, audits, and ongoing compliance checks.
- Maintain the approved supplier and subcontractor database.
Onboarding and Documentation
- Facilitate the onboarding of new suppliers.
- Ensure documentation, agreements, and records are complete and accurate.
- Provide guidance on company standards and expectations.
Performance Monitoring and Issue Resolution
- Track supplier performance (lead times, delivery, quality).
- Address non-compliance proactively and constructively.
- Maintain accurate audit trails and performance records.
Category Management and Procurement Activities
- Support category strategies to strengthen value and resilience.
- Conduct market research and manage RFQs.
- Assist with implementing contracts and supply agreements.
Relationship and Stakeholder Management
- Build positive relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Act as a primary contact for queries, negotiations, and escalations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activity with business needs.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Produce clear reports on supplier performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Analyse procurement data to support decision-making.
- Contribute to initiatives such as supplier rationalisation, inventory reduction, and NPI projects.
What you'll bring
- Experience in procurement, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, governance, and supplier performance management.
- Ability to interpret MRP messages, manage purchase orders, and maintain accurate ERP data.
- Capable of managing direct and indirect spend, RFQs, and supplier negotiations.
- Comfortable analysing procurement data, creating KPIs, and identifying performance trends.
- Experience in supplier auditing, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Understanding of master data management (lead times, MOQs, pricing).
- Exposure to NPI processes or inventory reduction initiatives is welcomed.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised, process-driven, customer-focused, and proactive.
- Confident working with multiple stakeholders and managing priorities effectively.
- A team player who follows tasks through to completion and continuously seeks improvement.
