Help deliver the next generation of low-carbon heating.
At Kensa, we’re making heating better - for people, for the planet and for the future. Since 1999, we’ve been leading the way in ground source heat pump technology, delivering innovative, low-carbon heating solutions that support the UK’s transition to net zero.
We’re looking for an experienced M&E Site Manager to join us on a high-profile project in South-West London. This is an opportunity to put your technical expertise to work on a demanding ground source heat pump installation.
The role
As M&E Site Manager, you’ll take ownership of site delivery from installation through to commissioning and handover, with responsibility for programme, quality and health and safety.
Working closely with the project team, designers, suppliers and specialist subcontractors, you’ll provide clear site leadership, bring the different building services disciplines together and resolve issues before they affect progress.
What you’ll be doing
Lead day-to-day M&E installations, including plant rooms, riser and distribution pipework, and ground source heat pumps.
Coordinate specialist subcontractors and suppliers, planning work and managing interfaces to keep delivery on programme.
Review drawings and specifications with the project team, resolving installation and coordination issues before they cause delays.
Ensure mechanical plant, electrical services and controls/BMS are properly integrated across the installation.
Maintain high standards of site safety and workmanship, coordinating activities to minimise disruption to residents.
Monitor installation quality, manage snagging and keep accurate inspection and installation records.
Oversee testing and commissioning, ensuring completed works and documentation are ready for final handover.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be a practical, organised and technically capable site leader who is comfortable taking responsibility for complex building services installations. You’ll combine strong mechanical services knowledge with the ability to coordinate multiple disciplines, challenge issues constructively and keep work moving safely and efficiently.
You’ll be confident managing specialist subcontractors, making informed decisions on site and maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality and health and safety.
Skills and experience
Strong experience managing complex mechanical and building services installations on site.
Experience with plant rooms, large-bore pipework, risers and distribution systems.
Experience with heat pumps, ground source heat pumps or district heating systems.
Good understanding of electrical services, controls and BMS integration associated with mechanical plant.
Proven ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors, manage competing site interfaces and maintain programme.
Confidence reviewing drawings and specifications, identifying coordination issues and resolving technical challenges.
Experience managing health and safety, quality assurance and installation documentation.
Experience taking installations through testing, commissioning and final handover.
Experience working in occupied residential or high-rise environments would be advantageous, as would knowledge of relevant MCS standards.
Qualifications
Essential
SMSTS.
CSCS Manager (Black) Card.
First Aid at Work.
Desirable
HNC/HND in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
Additional training in IOSH, COSHH, CDM, fire safety or temporary works, where relevant to the role.
Any additional project-specific or contractual training requirements will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
What success looks like
Success in this role will mean delivering coordinated, high-quality installations safely and to programme, resolving technical and interface issues early, maintaining accurate quality records and achieving a smooth transition into testing, commissioning and final handover.
You’ll help create a well-coordinated site environment where specialist contractors work effectively together and installation issues are identified and addressed before they affect delivery.
